
John Paul Barry
John Paul is a seasoned performing musician. Having played over 1,000 shows in his lifetime, he has performed in various groups and toured several states throughout the Southeast. He is a songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist, performer, and music instructor. John Paul has devoted his life to the pursuit of musical knowledge and training, gaining expertise in music theory, music production, songwriting, improvisation, and performance.
His many years of experience in these areas, combined with the vast diversity of music he has enjoyed and listened to over the years, have given him a unique style and perspective in his own writing and producing.

John Paul holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Management from the Georgia State University School of Music, where his primary instrument of study was Jazz Guitar. He is currently graduating with a Master of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Music Studies from Berklee College of Music with an emphasis on Songwriting and Music Production. After graduation, John Paul plans to start his own sync licensing business, Pocket Vibe Studios, LLC, which will specialize in custom songwriting for advertising, television, film, and established recording artists.

John Paul’s career as a music instructor spans over 10 years and has taught more than 100 students. He currently teaches Advanced classes in music theory, music production, improvisation, songwriting, guitar, and bass, as well as intermediate classes in drums, ukulele, and voice.

Beginner classes in piano, mandolin, and cello. John Paul began teaching at Musicology in March of 2024.
