Joseph Collins
Joe Collins is a cellist and guitarist from Newnan, GA. He started his career at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in cello performance while studying under Dr. Brooks Whitehouse. As a multi-instrumentalist, Joe has played for groups in nearly every genre, including as a gospel church bassist, a country chicken-picker, a seasoned doubling pit musician, an eccentric jazz and hip-hop drummer, a human jukebox for corporate cover bands, and a well-mannered orchestral player.
Joe’s career has been marked by his joy of playing for the sake of playing, and he can be seen having just as much fun playing covers at a local bar as he would playing at the PNC Music Pavilion or the Saenger Theatre. Joe’s most recent projects include collaborating with some of South Georgia’s talented artists at local venues, recording at Gray Cat Studios, Patchwerk Studios, and Bakos Amp Works, and being featured on Jeezy’s newest album, TM101: Live.
